The Global Open University Nagaland was established under the Global Open University Act 2006 of the Government of Nagaland. The university has given the task by the government to provide education aimed at professional and working people in the Northeast in general and for the Naga people in particular. The government of Nagaland has taken bold initiatives to strengthen the activities of the Global Open University, Nagaland to allow institutional development of the Global Programme (WIBP) to develop adequate infrastructure in Nagaland in general and in Wokha, Kohima and Dimapur In particular.
